The inspection of the Ramzan bazaar held at the Rumdamol village by agencies on Friday.

All eyes are focused on the Rumdamol village Panchayat on the question of issuing permission for the Ramzan bazaar in the village.
A joint inspection was conducted on Friday by officials of agencies, including the Panchayat, Fire, Health, Maina Curtorim police and traffic police, to explore the possibility of issuing permission. The officials, however, realised that the organisers of the bazaar had already erected the stalls, including amusement items such as a giant wheel at the site.
Incidentally, the Panchayat, Health and the Fire Services pointed out that they have not issued any permission for the proposed bazaar till date.
The Rumdamol panchayat secretary, who was present for the inspection, could not state whether the Panchayat would issue permission for the bazaar, other than saying that the Panchayat would take a decision.
Fire Officer Gill D’Souza and Sanitary Inspector (Health) Eusebio Silva told the media that the organisers have not obtained permission from the Fire and Health departments.
The Rumdamol panchayat is divided over the issue of granting permission, with four members supporting the bazaar, while an equal number of panchas are opposing the event, with one member preferring to remain neutral.
