SIT arrests man in Anjuna land grabbing case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Crime Branch has arrested a man from Socorro in connection with a land-grabbing case involving forged documents and fraudulent transfer of property in Anjuna.
The accused, identified as Sameer Satardekar, a resident of Lima Vaddo, Socorro, was arrested on Friday under Sections 465, 466, 467, 468, 471, 420 read with 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.
According to officials, Satardekar was allegedly part of a criminal conspiracy along with other accused to fraudulently take possession of land bearing Survey No 444/8 at Anjuna.
The accused reportedly created forged documents and fabricated inventory proceedings to illegally transfer ownership of the property.
The SIT arrested Satardekar and produced him before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Mapusa, which granted three days’ police custody.
The investigation is being conducted by PSI Pritesh Madgaonkar of the SIT (Land Grabbing Cell) under the supervision of DySP Shivram Vaigankar and the overall guidance of Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch) Rahul Gupta (IPS).
Further investigation is underway.
