Directorate of Mines and Geology (DMG) has extended the time limit till May 31, 2026, for successful bidders to pick up the e-auctioned ore lying at various primary locations, following a request from bidders.

Initially, the bidders were asked to pick up their cargo -- that was auctioned till October, 2024 -- by June 6, 2025. DMG has so far held 30 e-auctions selling close to 16 million tons of ore since January, 2014.

DMG director Narayan Gad in an order issued has permitted the parties to lift their cargo from the primary location by May 31, 2026.

“The time period for lifting of e-auctioned ore had ended on June 6 and subsequently requests were received from successful bidders. Therefore, the government is now pleased to further extend the time limit for lifting of the cargo auctioned up to 30th e-auction till May 31, 2026,” the order stated.

The parties have to furnish the details like e-auction number, stack number, location, quantity won and balance quantity to be lifted from the primary location of e-auction, total amount paid, etc before obtaining transit permit.

The bidders will have to submit agreement or documents along with sale of permit to authenticate that cargo is sold.

The last e-auction was held in October, last year, wherein 7.5 lakh metric tons of ore was old. The 31st e-auction is scheduled in the first week of November, wherein another 7.5 lakh metric tons of ore is put up for sale.
