Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that the State has set a national benchmark in cyber safety with the launch of a cloud-based 1930 Cyber Crime Helpline, in a bid to ensure faster response, complete accountability and smarter policing even as he said the State will soon roll out e-Zero FIR.
“With the cloud-based 1930 Cyber Helpline, faster response, 100 per cent accountability and smarter policing are now a reality,” Sawant said.
He further stated that the upgraded system ensures uninterrupted service with 100 per cent uptime, full call recording and end-to-end monitoring, enabling authorities to track complaints efficiently and respond swiftly to cybercrime incidents. The helpline also uses smart data analytics to aid faster detection and response to cyber fraud cases.
Sawant further announced that the State will soon roll out e-Zero FIR. “Coming soon is e-Zero FIR -- instant e-FIRs for cyber frauds up to Rs 1 lakh, directly through 1930,” he said.
The MHA initiated e-zero FIR relates to financial losses made to the National Cyber Reporting Platform and 1930 will automatically lead to registration of a Zero FIR.
As per the MHA, the e-zero FIR will be immediately routed to the territorial Cybercrime Police Stations. Complainants can visit the cybercrime Police Station within 3 days and get the Zero FIR converted into a regular FIR.
CM Sawant also said the initiative is part of the State’s move towards smart policing with a citizen-first focus. “We are introducing smart policing for a citizen-first, cyber-safe Goa,” he said.
