TMC Goa State convenor and former Sancoale ZP member Mariano Rodrigues filed his nomination papers on Tuesday as the TMC candidate from Sancoale constituency for the upcoming ZP elections, marking the party’s formal entry into the ZP polls.
Rodrigues, a resident of Sancoale, arrived at the Mormugao Block office accompanied by supporters and submitted his papers before the returning officer.
Speaking after the formalities, he said his decision to contest independently stems from his belief that local issues demand “unfiltered commitment”
“I have served the people of Sancoale before, and I know their expectations. I want to work for the people so that decisions are taken purely in the interest of the constituency,” he said, adding that voters were looking for a representative “who listens first and acts responsibly.”
