By launching QUBE, Godrej Appliances has disrupted cooling technology in the whole country. QUBE, which was recently launched in Goa, is in some ways like a refrigerator, but, in some other
ways it is an entirely different product.
Like a refrigerator, it can keep your food, medicine, beverages and almost anything, which needs cooling upto a temperature of 8 degree Celsius. But, it does not have a freezer and therefore you can’t make ice in it. It does look like a mini fridge, which is far more portable and can be conveniently put in a corner of a room.
But the most salient feature of QUBE is that it is an environment friendly product because it does not have refrigerants and it also does not have a compressor. Most refrigerants cause global warming and hence they are bad for the environment.
QUBE is based on advanced thermoelectric cooling technology, which is environment friendly. Godrej Appliances has priced it at Rs 6,990 for one variant and Rs 8,250 for another variant. Its capacity is 30 litres and its weight is 11 kgs.
The manufacturer is marketing it aggressively as a stylish food and beverages cooler for the hospitality industry and also for the retail segment.
The top management of Godrej Appliances is in Goa to participate in hospitality expo to market QUBE to leading hotels in the State. Apart from that, the company also expects to target residential consumers for QUBE as well.
Vikram Singh, AVP & National Head Service Revenue and Direct Sales, Godrej Appliances, said, “Suited for a variety of storage needs – beverages, sweets, fruits, chocolates and dairy, QUBE is indeed full of possibilities. This product is a testimony to our commitment to innovation and bringing green technologies.”
