This is with reference to the report "Reduce GST on air purifiers: HC to govt. - The Goan Everyday - December 31, 2025." The Delhi High Court directive to the GST Council to consider reducing or rather abolishing GST on air purifiers in view of the worsening air quality in Delhi may be a welcome step, bringing some relief to the people of Delhi. As a stop gap measure it may be fine however, how about long-term measures to stop the deteriorating environment in the country as a whole? What we need today is a complete, blanket ban on all projects involving cutting down hills, trees, mangroves, forests, wetlands because when the environment is destroyed, even air purifiers are not going to help. We are looking at an ecological disaster in the near future, in the New Year. Are we getting the point?
