Crowds at rallies are taken as a sign that a leader has the support of citizens. These days, in spite of being able to pay people to attend, Modi/BJP rallies have near total vacancy.
Meanwhile, everywhere Rahul Gandhi goes, he enjoys overflowing crowds coming to his rallies.
Isn’t the first a reasonable indication of lack of support? And the second a reasonable sign of the opposite?
If crowds came to Modi’s rallies, would they not show that off as a positive sign? Why then are these very telltale evidences of change in popular sentiment ignored or interpreted to suit the ruling dispensation, especially by the godi media?
