Goans indebted to Gulf countries

Amid the ongoing war between the USA/Israel and Iran, the UAE and its GCC neighbours are facing an uneasy time. Having lived for many years in Kuwait and the UAE, I know that many Goans across the GCC—including KSA, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE—will agree that these countries have been truly “God-sent.” They have provided opportunities that helped raise our standard of living.

A notable example in Colva is the generous financial contribution from Kuwait Colvenkars toward the Colva church hall. Similar stories of support can be found across Goa.

The UAE, the last GCC country where I lived, in particular gave me the chance to grow both professionally and personally, and to give back to my community in Goa. I pray that all GCC countries, including Kuwait and the UAE, emerge even stronger from this challenging time.
