Unhealthy, unhygienic food still sold openly in Goa

Health is wealth, but our South Goa FDA team does not seem to be active in cracking down on food being sold openly in markets and shops without proper licences or expiry dates. Such food can harm people’s health. Why are shopkeepers buying items from people who sell products without any labels? Are they putting people’s lives at risk just for money, without thinking about safety?

Why is there no fear of the FDA among these sellers? The team seems unable to take strong action against illegal food items or unsafe food being served in hotels and restaurants.

We celebrate World Health Day, but is the food we eat—after paying for it—actually safe? Our government talks about banning plastic bags, promoting healthy food, and controlling tobacco, but unsafe, unhygienic and unhealthy products are still being sold across Goa.
