One does not normally hear of senior personnel of the defence forces attending the inauguration of private sector factories be it related to the country’s defence needs. But just on Feb 26, Gen Vinod Pande was present with all his senior generals for the inauguration of Adani's munitions and missile manufacturing facility near Kanpur in the presence of the UP CM Yogi Adityanath. Army personnel in the past would be present for the functions of the government defence undertakings like HAL, BEL, Bharat Dynamics etc. but not for private sector factories. Times are changin'. They sure are.
