The recurring flooding in Salcete subways, particularly the Seraulim underpass, is a pressing concern. Despite being a costly project, the drainage issues persist, and the underpass remains closed months after flooding. The Seraulim railway bypass, part of the Western Bypass project, estimated to cost over ₹10 crore to be taken up by State government and the railway on a cost-sharing basis, saw a staggering cost escalation as per recent reports. Questions arise about the project's cost-benefit analysis and accountability, considering taxpayers' funds were utilized. Who will intervene to resolve this? While our MLAs' efforts in organizing medical camps and sports activities are commendable, weren't they elected primarily for ensuring basic governance? It's time to demand answers and action.
