The acid attack on 17-year-old boy in Dhargal shows the worsening law and order in Goa and highlights the government's failure to protect citizens. While tourists flock to its beautiful beaches, rising crime rates are transforming Goa into a haven for criminals, endangering residents.  A student with a promising future, endured a horrific act that could forever alter his life, spotlighting the reality that daily activities, like waiting for a bus, have turned unsafe in a state known for its tranquility. The alarming rise in heinous crimes points to a lack of effective policing, inadequate surveillance. While police boast a high detection rate, the focus should be on prevention  on creating an environment where such crimes are deterred. The acid attack on the student is a wake-up call, a burning scar on Goa's conscience. The people of Goa deserve to feel safe in their homes, on their streets, and at their bus stops. The current government's inability to provide this fundamental security is a betrayal of its primary duty.
