AIFF Training Centre in-charge Cabral passes away

Tony Cabral, the in-charge of All India Football Federation Training Centre, Fatorda, passed away due to multiple organ failure, on Thursday evening. He had also served as the team manager of India Under-23, pre-Olympics squad under Irish coach Collin Toal.

Anil Kamat, Director of Competitions, AIFF, stated that the demise of Cabral is a personal loss. “We will always remember Cabral as an able administrator who discharged his duties with aplomb and who has given everything for the training centre. It will be difficult to fill the void left by him,” Kamat said.

“May his soul rest in peace. He was a gem of a person; so simple and humble. I had a very good relationship with him. A rare commodity, it's difficult to find a person like him in today's world,” said Armando Colaco, former India coach.

“Shocked to hear that Tony Cabral is no more. My sincere and deepest condolences to his family and friends. May his soul rest in peace,” said Joe Dias, president of Salcete Football Club.

“His contributions will always be remembered. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace. I was in touch with him and he will always stay in our memory. He will remain an inspiration for generations to come,” said Anthony Pango, vice-president of Goa Football Association.
