Ambelim Sports Club’s futsal team has begun training under the careful guidance of coach Joao Rebello at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium in Navelim.
Coach Rebello is focused on preparing the players for the upcoming AIFF Futsal Club Championship, which kicks off on August 3 in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand.
The training camp started with initial fitness and physical conditioning sessions, which will continue throughout the camp. Rebello has called up 18 probable players for the preparations. He said, “The players have shown great eagerness to work hard. Four of them have played together before, so it’s a strong and close-knit group—they know each other well.
“There is plenty of room for improvement in playing organized futsal, but the young players have a positive attitude and are keen to learn. Their individual skills are also very promising,” he added.
Ambelim Sports Club will compete in Group D of the AIFF Futsal Championship alongside TOFA, Real Malabar FC, and OGP Club.
