The Late Radhabai Vasant Kamat Cricket Tournament saw exciting action in two matches, with Anand Cricket Coaching Academy and AIM CA securing victories.
At the Sanguem Cricket Ground, Anand Cricket Academy defeated Sparkling Star’s Association by 7 wickets. Batting first, Sparkling Star posted a total of 118/7 in 15 overs. Ruthvik Lad played a stellar knock of 71 runs off 36 balls, while Tanishq Naik added 22 runs. Anand CA’s J Chranthish bowled economically, claiming 2 wickets for 26 runs in his 4-over spell.
In response, Anand CA chased down the target comfortably, finishing at 151/3 in 15 overs. Skhanda Shetty was the hero, remaining unbeaten on 67* off 84 balls. Pavan Deep R contributed 37 runs, while Avaneesh Hattikar added 16 runs. Lad was the pick of the bowlers for Sparkling Star’s, taking 2 wickets. Shetty was named Man of the Match.
Meanwhile, AIM CA secured a dominant victory over Goa Colts in the other match at the SAG Ground in Fatorda.
Winning the toss in the presence of Yogiraj Kamat, AIM CA chose to bat first and posted a competitive total of 265 runs in their 50 overs. Piyush Sawant played a standout innings, scoring 65 runs, while Samarjit Sakpal supported with an impressive 88 runs.
In reply, Goa Colts struggled to form partnerships and were bowled out for just 146 runs. AIM CA’s disciplined bowling attack stifled their opponents, ensuring a comfortable win.
Piyush Sawant was named the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
