Aryan Vikas Mandrekar of Mushtifund High School, Cujira, Bambolim won a gold medal in dance category (hip hop/breaking style) at the National Championship.
He has been selected to represent India at an international-level tournament to be held in Nepal from June 25-27.
Goa junior hockey team for Odisha
Dr Gita Nagvekar, Executive Director, Sports Authority of Goa, wished the Goa State junior men's hockey team ahead of their campaign at the National Junior Men's Hockey India Championship to be held from June 12 to 19 at Rourkela, Odisha.
The Executive Director instructed the team members to perform well. Also present were Goan Hockey members, Ferral Furtado, General Secretary, Nelly Rodriguez, Anjulo P Fernandes, Benny Veiges, Inavio, Valanka and Dattesh. They also encouraged the team to put up a good performance.
The team will be led by Sarang Honakhande as captain. Victor Albuquerque is the coach and Carl D'Douza is the manager. Goa are clubbed with Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry in Pool F. The first match will be played on June 12.
UC Seraulim move into semifinals
MARGAO: In an exciting match, United Club of Seraulim defeated Benaulim Veterans via tiebreaker to advance into the semifinals of Late Saude Mendes Memorial veterans football tournament organised by Carmona Sports Club.
In the first half, Benaulim scored first. In the second half, Jess Cardozo equalised for Seraulim. In the tiebreaker, Seraulim prevailed 7-6. Jess Cardozo was adjudged Man of the Match. Seraulim will meet Colva Veterans in the second semifinal on Friday.
