Parish Youth Nuvem secured a place in the quarterfinals of the 52nd Custodio Memorial Football Tournament by defeating Sao Jose de Areal 5-3 via a tiebreaker. The tournament is organised by Raia Sporting Club and was played at the Raia Panchayat ground on Sunday.
Nuvem were on the attack from the word go, eager to get their name on the scoresheet, as were Areal. Nuvem struck first in the 31st minute through Jonas Colaco and led 1-0 at the lemon break.
After the resumption of the second half, Areal changed the tempo of the game, took control, and found the equaliser in the 41st minute through Stalen Oliveira. The score remained 1-1 at full time.In the resultant tiebreaker, Nuvem scored through Jonas Colaco, Nigel Colaco, Shenoy Colaco, and Alvito Dias, while Areal managed to convert through Aryan Carvalho and Ashnoy Gomes.
