Colva police have stated that the boy who died at the swimming pool of a starred resort in Cavelossim on Saturday evening had moved from the adjacent children’s pool into the adult swimming pool, where he drowned.
Police inquiry revealed that the boy, a resident of Dabolim and originally from Manipur, was playing in the children’s pool with his seven-year-old elder brother and other children.
While playing, he moved into the adjacent adult swimming pool and drowned. At the time of the incident, his parents were near the restaurant area. He was declared brought dead.
Police have conducted a scene-of-occurrence panchanama and an inquest panchanama. The boy’s body has been preserved at the South Goa District Hospital in Margao for further medico-legal formalities.
