VASCO: Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho on Saturday laid the foundation stone for a futsal ground with a walking track at New Vaddem, announcing that the project would be completed within 45 days. The facility will include illumination, seating, toilets, a changing room and a stage for functions, besides security arrangements to prevent anti-social activities.
Godinho said the project aimed to provide residents, particularly youngsters, with facilities for sports and recreation. He also announced plans to construct another futsal ground with a walking track and seating beneath the Dabolim flyover. Referring to the Dabolimcha Raja Ganesh Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav controversy, Godinho alleged that some people had attempted to undermine him politically despite his contributions to the festival.
