Cumborda Sports Club defeated Eklate Football Club 5-4 via a tiebreaker to enter the quarterfinals of the 2nd Caniza Peixoto Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Black Arrow Boys Agxem Sports Club and played at the St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Sunday.
Both teams played fast, attacking football, keeping the Sunday crowd engaged, but neither side could break the deadlock, with the score remaining 0-0 at full time. In the resultant tiebreaker, Cumborda scored through Valzino Fernandes, Marcus Fernandes, Myrick Hilario, Rio Fernandes, and Mackson Fernandes, while Eklate FC found the net through Nezly Hilario, Fredy Hilario, Joeburn Hilario, and Killinson Cardozo. Marcus Fernandes of Cumborda Sports Club was awarded the Man of the Match by club member Jovito Peixoto.
