Goa Forward leader and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai said he will raise key issues of Mandrem constituency in the upcoming Assembly session, including CRZ-related problems affecting local homes and the non-opening of Tuem Hospital.

Speaking at a meeting in Mandrem Zilla Panchayat hall, Sardesai said these issues remain unresolved as the elected representatives have not raised them in the Assembly. The meeting was held to hear the concerns of Mandrem and Pernem residents. Goa Forward general secretary Durgadas Kamat, North Goa president Deepak Kalangutkar, former Mandrem sarpanch Prashant Bala Naik, and others were present.

Citizens expressed fear that widening the MDR road to 25 metres would affect many homes and shops, demanding justice on the matter. They also questioned why Tuem Hospital, despite being ready for seven years, remains non-functional. Sardesai assured that he would draw the attention of the government and the Health Minister to these issues in the Assembly and seek solutions.

Kalangutkar said the meeting was organised to hear public issues and that Sardesai would present them in the Assembly to get justice for the people. The Goa Forward Party stated that as local representatives in Pernem are part of the government, key issues are not being effectively addressed, forcing them to engage directly with residents.

Former sarpanch Prashant Naik noted that those who raise their voices face pressure, but the problems remain and need attention, praising Sardesai for taking the initiative to organise the meeting.
