The Ulhas Jewellers – BPS All Goa Major Ranking Para Table Tennis Tournament 2025 was successfully held on June 29 at the Multipurpose Stadium, Fatorda. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from a total of 18 para table tennis players, comprising five players in the Standing Category and 13 in the Wheelchair Category.
In the fiercely contested Standing Category, Chetan Salgaonkar emerged as the winner, securing the first place, while Fleev Andrade claimed the runner-up position. In the Wheelchair Category, Stany Dsouza displayed exceptional skill to bag the first place, with Moises Rodrigues finishing as the runner-up.
The tournament also saw spirited participation from other para athletes, namely Sarvesh Paidarkar, Gopal Naik, Rayansh Sawant, Mithun Shirodkar, Patrick D’Souza, Durgadas Gaunekar, Vishant Nagvekar, Vinod Kumbhar, Sayad Mosik A Mauli, Dharmesh Kuri, Sadaf Fatima, Silvester Camilo Gracias, and Santosh Aigal.
Patrick D’Souza, president of the Disability Alliance for Inclusive Goa and one of the participants in the tournament, expressed sincere gratitude to Vikram Verlekar for including the Para category in the competition. “This thoughtful inclusion made the tournament truly inclusive and reflective of equal opportunity for all,” said Patrick D’Souza.
