Ayaan Shaikh and Sakshi K won the men's and women's singles titles respectively at the State Badminton Ranking Tournament organised by BPS Sports Club at Navelim.
Ayaan defeated Nishant Shenai 21-19, 28-26 in the final to clinch his maiden title in the men’s singles section. Sakshi K dominated the first set in the women's singles final at 14-8, facing off against top seed Janhavi Mahale. Janhavi had to retire due to injury, handing the victory to Sakshi, who displayed exceptional skills throughout the tournament, claiming four titles. Her other wins came in girls singles U17 and U19 age groups, and in U17 mixed doubles.
The tournament was one of the selection tournaments for the West Zone and Nationals.
