The 4th annual get-together of the Signals Veterans football fraternity featured an engaging friendly encounter between Army Signals Veterans Legends and Goa Veterans Legends at the 3 Military Training Regiment Ground, Navelim.
The match began on a competitive note, with both sides showcasing their experience and tactical awareness. Despite several promising moves, neither team was able to break the deadlock, and the first half ended goalless.
The decisive moment arrived late in the game when former India captain Bruno Coutinho curled in a brilliant free-kick to secure victory and headline the contest.
The Army Signals Veterans lineup included experienced names such as Leo Paul, Manuel Fernandes, Lt. Col. T.S.S. Prasad, Coach Prebhakaran, and A.K. Singh, while the Goa Veterans side featured legends like Brahmanand Sankhwalkar, Bruno Coutinho, Robert Fernandes, Avetano Furtado, and Oswaldo D’Costa.
The event was graced by Dronacharya Awardee and former India national team coach Armando Colaco as Chief Guest, who was also felicitated for his contribution to Indian football.
The programme was smoothly coordinated by former Signals coach Omanakuttan G, ensuring a well-organised and memorable gathering.
