MARGAO: Calangute Association booked their place in the final of the 1st Vedanta Trophy with a solid 2-0 victory over their opponents at the Sinquerim Sports Club ground on Monday.
Young striker Jovito Fernandes opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, giving Calangute a 1-0 lead going into halftime.
The win was sealed in the 53rd minute when former state player Pedro Gonsalves found the back of the net with a well-taken goal.
Referee issued yellow cards to Pratik Tirodkar, Gauresh, and Aiyan Shaikh during the match.
Pedro Gonsalves was named Man of the Match for his standout performance, with the award presented by GFDC official Franklin Roncon.
