The Goa Football Association (GFA), under the aegis of the All India Football Federation (AIFF), conducted a six-day AIFF 'D' Licence Coaching Course from June 1 to 6 at the Duler Stadium in Mapusa.
A total of 24 aspiring football coaches participated in the course, including five women. One participant was from Hyderabad, while the rest were from Goa. The course combined both theoretical and practical aspects of football coaching and was aimed at developing grassroots-level coaching talent in the region.
Antonio Prestly Pereira served as the AFC-certified instructor, with Anthony Lobo as the course coordinator.
Among the participants were several notable players, including Pro League players Girish Naik, Joseph Clemente, and Gaurav Vaigankar, as well as ISL player Jonathan Cardozo. The group also featured Goa state player Pushpa Parab, one of the five female participants.
This annual initiative by the GFA continues to strengthen the foundation of football in Goa by equipping aspiring coaches with the necessary skills and certifications.
