Come and watch the superstars in action, you may not get another chance: Stuart Binny

PANAJI

Stuart Binny, the former India international and all-rounder is among a galaxy of cricket stars in Goa to participate the World Legends Pro T20 League 2026 in Verna. Representing Maharashtra Tycoons, the hard-hitting batter and right arm medium pacer who represented the country, had a media interaction at a starred resort in the State recently.

On playing in Goa

It has been wonderful. It’s nice to play in Goa always. Goa has been special to me. I live in Bangalore, so not too far from Goa. When I was growing up, we came a lot to Goa to play junior cricket - U-13, U-16 and it is nice now to see all the big stars in Goa. Obviously, the tournament has been very successful right up till now. The wickets have been great and we are having a great time.

Impression of the 1919 Sportz Cricket Stadium in Verna

I think it has been great. Having been a new stadium, I think the ground staff and curators have done a great job because it is not easy to play two games everyday for the next 10 days. The wickets have been holding up well, the outfield has been good, the lights have been great and the facilities have been excellent.

On getting match ready for the World Legends Pro T20 League

I think once you are a professional cricketer, once you step out to that ground we all wear a name on our jerseys which we like to keep high and proud. I think it is just about keeping our bodies in tune. Because, I look to play about 6-7 tournaments a year. So, before this tournament, I had a month off and preparations have been in keeping the body nice and fit. Trying to play and get as much practice as possible. But otherwise, it has been normal. It is just that we don’t play everyday cricket. So, for us, it is about looking after our bodies.

Duels you look forward to in the League

It is always nice to play against people you played international cricket and IPL with. I don’t think I have any particular duel, that I want to make the most of. But I think it is nice to bat with Chris Gayle the other day. We were RCB teammates in the IPL 2014,2015 seasons. It was nice to share the dressing room with him and especially share a partnership with him.

Message to cricket fans in Goa

The fans are everything for cricketers. It is the support you guys give us is a reason to go out and play cricket. We are very grateful and thankful. A lot of superstars are here in Goa. We don’t know whether some of them will be back again but if you want to watch them live in action, then please come to the stands and we will entertain you.
