Founder and president of Compassion FC Kennedy D’Silva informed that the club is presently on the verge of closure if immediate financial assistance from sport’s loving individuals, corporate firms and private companies comes through.

One of the prominent girls academy mostly for the underprivileged from rural parts of the state was set up in 2014. The academy has been involved in various educational and cultural activities apart from sports.

Silva said that the club is presently going through an acute financial crunch. "We do not have enough resources to run the club and despite several attempts to rope in sponsors, we have failed to reach to the underprivileged rural communities in the way we would desire," said Silva. "We humbly request those who are concerned for the development of girls football in particular and especially corporate firms to provide financial assistance so as to prevent it from closure through their CSR initiatives," he added.

Compassion FC which has been working with the underprivileged girls in Goa and many other places had an extraordinary football season for 2023-24, marked by numerous achievements across various age groups and competitions organised by the Goa Football Association. The club in recent times have been involved in Women’s athletics, regular and beach volleyball for women and surfing as their new sports promotion activities too.
