Goa coach Shane Temudo is brimming with confidence ahead of his team's opening clash against Telangana in the Junior Boys National Football Championship for the Dr. B. C Roy Trophy 2025–26 (Tier 1), scheduled for July 20 at the Bibi Ratni Sports Stadium in Amritsar, Punjab.

“My boys are talented, disciplined, and have a strong winning mindset. If they play to their potential, they are capable of beating any team,” said Temudo, following a morale-boosting win over the Sesa Football Academy junior team. He believes the victory will serve as added motivation for the players.

Confident in his team's strengths, Temudo emphasized the importance of sticking to their natural game. “If we play to our strengths and maintain our usual style, I have no doubt we’ll secure a win,” he added.

While not overly concerned about the group-stage opposition, Temudo acknowledged that the other teams have quality players. “Yes, some teams have strong individuals, but there's nothing to be afraid of. I’ve devised strategies and will guide my boys on how to implement them effectively,” said the FC Goa Junior coach.

He also spoke highly of the overall squad balance. “This team has no major weaknesses — we’re solid across all three zones: defence, midfield, and attack. Our goalkeepers have been excellent, and with a strong bench, I have plenty of reliable options,” Temudo noted.

Goa has been drawn into Group A alongside Delhi, Telangana, and hosts Punjab in what promises to be an exciting battle for the top spot.
