CRC Chinchinim stormed into the semi-finals of the Cavelossim Panchayat Cup with a 3-0 win over Mandopa SC Navelim at the Fr Druston and Wellington ground in Cavelossim on Monday.
Despite Mandopa enjoying long spells of possession, Chinchinim proved clinical on the counter. Shario Gomes opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 11th minute and later doubled the lead with a powerful strike from outside the box. Captain Om Raikar added a third just before half-time with a solo effort to put the result beyond doubt.
Mandopa had their chances but failed to convert, with Nash Pereira missing a key opportunity. Chinchinim also came close to extending the lead in the second half but were wasteful in front of goal.
Solid defending from Vincy Rebello and Volan D’Sa ensured a clean sheet as CRC advanced to the semi-finals, where they will face Fr Agnelo SC Paroda on April 22.
Shario Gomes, who scored a brace, was named Man of the Match.
