Goa's Piedade Carvalho will represent India in master 76 kg weight category at the upcoming World Bench Press Championship 2024 in Austin Texas in USA.
After winning gold medal at State level competition held at Vasco for bench press in master's 76 kg category, she was selected to represent the State of Goa in national classic and equipped bench press championship 2023 held in Bangalore where she won silver in Classic and Bronze medal in equipped bench press category.
Speaking to the media, she gave credit to her husband Ladislau Carvalho, daughter Adel Carvalho and trainers coach Joel D'Souza and Sarvar Khan for her successful journey in powerlifting which was started by her in 2023.
"She is the perfect example that age is just a number and if you have the will and determination you can achieve anything in life." said her trainers and wished her all the success at the international level.
