Five-time champions Dempo Sports Club are set to face bottom-placed Sporting Club Bengaluru on Saturday at the Bangalore Football Stadium in an I-League clash.

Dempo head into the match in high spirits, having secured back-to-back victories, which have bolstered their title aspirations. Under the leadership of head coach Samir Naik, who marked a winning start in his previous match, Dempo’s primary objective is to return to the top spot, with Bengaluru being the first target.

“This is an important match for us, and our goal is to get back to the top. All our focus is on the game against Bengaluru, and I’m confident the team will be ready and fully prepared,” Naik said.

Dempo are determined to extend their winning streak and solidify their position at the top of the table. Naik emphasized that his team is not aiming for a draw, stating, “We are targeting only victory.” Despite missing some key players, including Daniel Murmu, Ariston Costa, and Necio Fernandes, Naik is confident in his squad's depth and ability to continue their strong form.

“We hope the three players recover soon, and that our players avoid injuries in the upcoming matches. We will give everyone an opportunity, and all players must be in peak physical and technical condition,” he added.

Naik also acknowledged the challenge posed by Sporting Club Bengaluru, who are struggling with confidence after a string of losses. “We will face a team low on confidence, but they will be looking to bounce back. We’re prepared for that challenge,” he concluded.
