Diya Organisation felicitated 25 young sportspersons at Kiran Hall, near Power House, Margao.
The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Angela de Abreu Naique, Grandmaster and 8th Degree Black Belt, and Guest of Honour Abel Barretto, businessman and journalist. Diya Organisation President Eddie Fernandes and Vice President Philomena Costa escorted the guests and jointly lighted the traditional lamp.
The young athletes felicitated included Swara Kole, Kavya Samant, Advika Mordekar, Ariana Dodmani, and Abigail Rego in gymnastics; Emmanuel Gama, Abner Lourenco, and Elmer Fernandes in football; Reuben Rocha, Aradhya Borkar, and Gargi Shirwaikar in swimming; Nandhini Velip and Deepam Velip in kho-kho; Om Damodar Govenkar and Kathyayani Honawarkar in yoga; Pratik Naik and Vyusti Prabhu as multi-talented athletes; Sharv Naik and Lubna Khan in Shotokan Karate; Shresth Ghonsekar and Aaradhya Dessai in chess; Jewel Fernandes and Kirtan Nayar in skating; Sakshi Narvekar in Sky Martial Art; and Sanchit Naik in Mallakhamb.
