Goa Amateur Boxing Association (GABA) will be conducting selection trials for the upcoming 6th Sub-Junior (U-17) Boys and Girls National Boxing Championships on 10th June 2025, from 8:00 AM onwards, at the Boxing Hall, Dayanand Sankool – Multipurpose Sports Complex, Peddem, Mapusa.
These trials are being organized in preparation for the prestigious national championships, which will be held from June 19 to 25 at SAI NBA, Rohtak, Haryana, under the aegis of the Boxing Federation of India in association with the Haryana Boxing Sangh. The event will see participation from promising young talents across the country, and Goa will be selecting its contingent through these trials.
Trials will be held across the following weight categories: 44–46 kg, 46–48 kg, 48–50 kg, 50–52 kg, 52–54 kg, 54–57 kg, 57–60 kg, 60–63 kg, 63–66 kg, 66–70 kg, 70–75 kg, 75–80 kg, and 80+ kg.
To be eligible for the selection trials, boxers (both boys and girls) must be under 17 years of age, registered with GABA, and residents of Goa for at least six months. They must possess an Aadhaar Card with a Goa residential address and must submit either a valid Bonafide Certificate from the school they are currently attending or a recent Residence Certificate issued by the Village Panchayat, Municipality, Mamlatdar, or Talathi.
Entries must be submitted via email to goaboxing@gmail.com by June 8, 5 PM. Submissions must include the following details: Name, Surname, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, Weight Category, Passport Size Photo, Blood Group, Aadhaar Card Number, Mobile Number, Email ID, GABA Registration Number, Name of the Boxing Centre/Coaching Centre/RCC, and the Name of the Parent, Legal Guardian, or Coach. All entries must be countersigned by the parent, legal guardian, or coach in order to be accepted.
On the day of the selection trials, boxers must carry both originals and photocopies of the following documents for verification: Birth Certificate or School Leaving Certificate, School Bonafide Certificate, Aadhaar Card, Passport-size Photograph, Annual Medical Fitness Certificate (issued by a government hospital and valid for three months), Age Estimation Certificate (conducted as per SAI norms by a government hospital), and Hepatitis B, C, and HIV Test Certificates (also issued by a government hospital and valid for three months).
GABA urges all aspiring young boxers to ensure the timely submission of entries and required documentation. This is a valuable opportunity for Goan boxers to represent the state on a national stage and advance their careers in the sport.
