Outclass Salgaocar by 136 runs in one-sided final
Geno Sports Club posted 331 before bundling out Salgaocar Cricket Club for 195.

Geno Sports Club produced a dominant all-round performance to defeat Salgaocar Cricket Club by 136 runs and clinch the Goa Premier Division League (One-Day) 2025-26 title, organised by the Goa Cricket Association, in a day-night final at the GCA Academy ground, Porvorim, on Friday.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Geno adopted an aggressive approach from the outset. Veer Yadav anchored the innings with a composed 103 off 124 balls, striking 12 fours and a six, while captain Manthan Khutkar provided momentum with a brisk 58 off 47 deliveries. Their partnership laid a strong platform for the middle order.
Kaushal Hattangadi (41 off 28 balls) and Manish Kakode (36 off 28) accelerated the scoring in the middle overs, while Vikas Singh chipped in with 33. With 28 extras added, Geno posted an imposing 331 all out in 49.5 overs.
For Salgaocar, Ruthvik Naik claimed three wickets, while Yash Kasvankar, Amulya Pandrekar, Gauresh Nagvekar and Tunish Sawkar picked up one each.
In reply, Salgaocar suffered an early setback, slipping to 8 for 2. Captain Yash Kasvankar led the resistance with 71 off 80 balls, while Yogesh Kauthankar contributed 55 off 73, the pair adding 92 runs for the fifth wicket.
However, Geno’s bowlers struck at regular intervals to regain control. Leg-spinner Shiven Borkar starred with figures of 5 for 11 in 3.1 overs, dismantling the middle order as Salgaocar were bowled out for 195 in 35.1 overs.
Samarth Rane took two wickets, while Pundalik Naik and Nihal Surlakar claimed one each. Geno were also sharp in the field, taking key catches and restricting runs.
At the prize distribution ceremony, GCA president Mahesh Desai, secretary Tulshidas Shetye, vice-president Paresh Phadte, joint secretary Anant Naik, treasurer Sayyed Abdul Majid, Geno Pharmaceuticals chairman Dilip Salgaocar, Vinod (Balu) Phadke, Chetan Desai and other dignitaries were present.
