GMC, Govt College Borda register wins in Inter-Collegiate Cricket Championship

Goa Medical College, Bambolim and Government College of Commerce & Economics, Borda, Margao recorded victories on the third day of the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Cricket Men’s Championship 2025–26 being played at the Goa University Cricket Ground, Taleigao.

In the first match of the day, Goa Medical College, Bambolim defeated Don Bosco Engineering College, Margao by eight wickets.

After winning the toss and electing to bowl, Goa Medical College restricted Don Bosco Engineering College to 148 for 7 in 20 overs. Ayush Karapurkar top-scored with 38 off 32 balls, while Rahul Revankar contributed 33 off 26 deliveries. Shivansh Gupta (2/26) and Adarsh Naik (2/34) were the pick of the bowlers for GMC.

In reply, Goa Medical College chased down the target comfortably, scoring 154 for 2 in just 14.1 overs. Jarvis Faleiro made 49 off 34 balls, while Adarsh Naik added 43 off 31 deliveries. Shivam Chouhan (1/7) and Gauresh Dhavlikar (1/33) claimed a wicket each for Don Bosco. Adarsh Naik was adjudged the player of the match.

In the second match, Government College of Commerce & Economics, Borda, Margao defeated Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Sanquelim by 45 runs.

Batting first after Sanquelim won the toss and opted to bowl, the Commerce College side were bowled out for 121 in 17.5 overs. Mohammad Huzaifa top-scored with 46 off 30 balls, while Raunak Singh Gusain chipped in with 19 off 19 deliveries. Rudresh Chari (3/21), Saish Satardekar (2/9) and Sohan Gawas (2/21) were the main wicket-takers for Sanquelim.

In response, the Sanquelim side struggled in the chase and were bowled out for 76 in 18.1 overs. Shrikant Ghadi scored 17 off 19 balls, while Atharva Surlakar added 13 off 14 deliveries. Mohammad Huzaifa (2/7), Sayyad Zubair (2/7) and Bansil Pandya (2/13) shared the bowling honours. Mohammad Huzaifa was named player of the match.
