Football coach Covan Lawrence has expressed strong confidence in his team's abilities as they head into the Sub Junior Boys National Football Championship, set to take place in Tier 1 Group D in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Following a series of successful practice matches, Lawrence noted a positive atmosphere within the camp. "The mood is upbeat, and all the boys are focused and determined to carry our winning momentum into the national championship. We believe in our abilities and have prepared thoroughly. We are eager to approach the tournament with a positive mindset and give our best in every game," Lawrence said.

The team departed for Bengaluru yesterday, following an intense training camp in Goa. "This tournament is a crucial step in our preparation for the championship. We are committed to giving our all, both on and off the field. I’d also like to thank the football federation for this opportunity, which allows us to strive towards fulfilling our fans' dreams," Lawrence added.

Goa has been drawn into a challenging group with Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and West Bengal. Lawrence acknowledged the responsibility to improve conditions and advance, emphasizing, “As a coach, I recognize that progress is constant in football worldwide. We will do our utmost to face our opponents in Bengaluru and be fully prepared for the competition."

“We are continually reviewing our plans and will discuss them further once the tournament is complete,” Lawrence added.

Lawrence also mentioned that five regular players had to be dropped due to medical issues. Despite this setback, he remains confident in his team’s ability. “The boys are ready, and we anticipate a strong performance from them. We’re looking forward to a good fight,” he concluded.
