The Modern Pentathlon Association of Goa has selected a 35-member contingent to represent the state at the 14th Modern Pentathlon Biathle & Triathle National Championship, scheduled to be held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, from October 4 to 7, 2025. The selected athletes span across various age categories — from Under-9 to Senior — and will depart for Indore by train on October 3.
To prepare for the national event, the athletes underwent intensive training at the Ponda Sports Complex starting from September 21, under the supervision of Chief Coach Kirtan Vaiz, along with coaches Alok Kothambikar, Nikita Naik, and team managers Ishita Paliekar and Filda Eldro.
A formal farewell function was held earlier today at the DSYA office, in the presence of several dignitaries including Shri Sanjiv Gadkar (IAS), Secretary, Government of Goa; Dr. Ajay Gaude, Director of Sports and Executive Director of SAG; Smt. Sandhya Paliekar, Secretary of MPAG; Shri Virendra Majik, Convenor of MPAG; and the coaching and support staff.
The athletes selected to represent Goa are: Raizel Rocha (U-9); Reuben Rocha, Nityam Gaude, Kenisha D’Costa (U-11); Yatharth L. Velip, Shreeja Naik, Garvi Kalangutkar, Prapti Gawde (U-13); Diksham Mandrekar, Sanitius Rebello, Dishant A. Velip, Sidhu S. Velip, Chetan Naik, Shravan Gaonkar, Gargi Shirwaikar, Bhargavi Rawal, Soumya Yadav, Deep Desai (U-15); Nishesh N. Gaude, Nathan Raposo, Dattaraj Naik, Pratik P. Jalmi, Ruchiket Gaonkar, Chiraj K. Gaonkar, Sachi Q. Chari, Vaishnavi S. Waddar (U-17); Nigel Raposo, Yash S.
