Goa University Football Women team won the Third place at the West Zone Inter University Football Women Championship 2025-26, organised by Awadhesh Pratap Singh University, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh.
In the playoff match with Pool D winners Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, Maharashtra, Goa University won 1-0. A lone goal came from Aniela Barretto, to take Goa University into the All India Inter University Championship 2025-26.
In the West Zone league, Goa University drew against Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune 0-0 in the first league match. In their second match Goa University beat University of Mumbai, Mumbai 3-0. Aniela Barretto scored two goals and another goal came from Blessica Rodrigues. Player of the match was awarded to Aniela Barretto.
In the last league match, which was a must win to win the championship Goa University lost 1-0 against by Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education, Gwalior.
Goa University Women Football team has qualified for All India Inter-University Football Women Championship 2025-2026 to be held at Annamalai University Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu from February 20 to 25.
