Stamina Club, Porvorim, emerged champions of the 4th Chandrakant Karapurkar Trophy, defeating Seiko Club, Margao by 21 runs in a high-scoring final played under lights at the Dr Rajendra Prasad Ground.

After being put in to bat, Stamina made full use of the opportunity with a blistering start. Openers Ninad Pawaskar and Sahil Dhuri put on a rapid 101-run partnership in just 7.2 overs, setting the tone for a big total. Dhuri led the charge with a commanding 74, while Pawaskar contributed 36. Abhinav Bhat added a valuable 41 to bolster the innings as Stamina posted a formidable 191/7 in their 20 overs. For Seiko, Om Fadte was the pick of the bowlers with 3/28, while Avishkar Mone and Reagan Pinto claimed two wickets each.

Chasing a stiff target of 192, Seiko Club stayed in contention during the first half of their innings. However, a flurry of wickets in the middle overs derailed their chase. Despite useful contributions from Reagan Pinto (48), Rajat Shet (39), Vedant Naik (32), and Prathamesh Salunke (24), they could only manage 170/9 in 20 overs. Tight bowling and sharp fielding by Stamina ensured they maintained control in the latter stages. Sachin Kurpaskar picked up 2/23, while Sahil Dhuri and Ninad Pawaskar chipped in with a wicket each.

Sahil Dhuri’s all-round brilliance earned him the Man of the Finals award, as he also received the winners’ trophy on behalf of his team from MCC officials and Sashidhar of Konkan Railway.
