MARGAO: Harrison XI Cuncolim and Shantadurga Panzorconim stormed into the semifinals of the 2nd edition of the 9-a-side AVCC Open Invitational Football Tournament, played at Velim Church Grounds.
In the first match, Shantadurga Panzorconim defeated Pocklivoll Sporting 2–1 in a closely contested encounter. Tushar Gaunkar of Shantadurga was named Man of the Match, with the award presented by Zorraster Coelho.
The second match produced a thrilling contest as defending champions Harrison XI Cuncolim edged past tournament favourites 63 Baradi 4–3. Macklish Pereira of Harrison XI was adjudged Man of the Match, receiving the award from Stanley Fernandes.
