A sensational late brace by Jaden Fernandes powered St Sebastiao Youth Club, Murida to a dramatic 3–2 victory over Socio Cultural Club, Loutolim in the Salcete Zone GFA Third Division League match played at the Rosary Church Ground, Navelim, on Friday.
Socio Cultural Club enjoyed the better of the first half and took the lead in the 41st minute when Declan Gomes calmly slotted past the St Sebastiao goalkeeper, giving his side a deserved advantage going into the break.
After the restart, St Sebastiao YC came out with renewed energy and mounted several attacks, but their forwards squandered multiple close-range opportunities. Against the run of play, Carl Soares doubled the lead for Socio Cultural Club, making it 2–0.
Undeterred, St Sebastiao continued to press and were rewarded in the 59th minute, when Sidesh Biswas pulled one back to reduce the deficit.
