The Goa Summer Cup 2026 concluded on an exciting note on Sunday, with thrilling finals in the U-12 and U-10 categories bringing the four-day tournament to a close at the Chowgule Sports Centre turf.
Organised by Futebol Club YFA, the tournament featured promising young footballers from Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, and Goa, and followed a competitive league-cum-knockout format.
In the U-12 final, Loyola High School Goa delivered a dominant performance to defeat Learn to Play Football School Mumbai 4–0. Ethan Diniz scored twice, while Caleb Fernandes and Fayne Rodrigues added a goal each. Fayne Rodrigues was the standout performer and was deservedly named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his consistent brilliance throughout the tournament.
The U-10 final, however, was a much tighter contest. Learn to Play Football School Mumbai edged past Loyola High School Goa after a dramatic finish. The match ended 2–2 in regulation time and was eventually decided in sudden death during the penalty shootout. Anay of the Mumbai side was awarded the MVP for his impressive and consistent performances.
The prizes were distributed by chief guest Andrew Ferrao, proprietor of City Sports and a member of the Goa Football Association Executive Committee.
