MARGAO
Parish Youth Nuvem continued their impressive form with a 3–1 victory over St. Rock Youth Club, Majorda, to secure a place in the semi-finals of the Cavelossim Villagers UK Cup 2025, organized by Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim. The match was held at the Fr. Druston and Wellington Ground, Cavelossim.
Nuvem wasted no time getting on the scoresheet. In the 5th minute, a precise through ball from Leroy Colaco found Francis Colaco, who timed his run perfectly to beat the offside trap and calmly finish, giving Nuvem an early 1–0 lead.
Majorda responded with an attacking move down the left flank, with Bevan D’Mello finding the back of the net, but the effort was ruled out for offside.
Majorda came out stronger in the second half and launched several attacks. Bevan D’Mello came close again with a powerful low drive, but Nuvem goalkeeper Macwin Colaco was up to the task with a fine save.
Despite Majorda's pressure, Nuvem extended their lead in the second half when a shot by Shenoy Colaco was only partially saved by Freddie Fernandes, and the ball trickled over the line to make it 2–0.
Majorda showed resilience and pulled one back through Ashley Mendes, narrowing the deficit to 2–1. However, hopes of a comeback were dashed when Francis Colaco scored his second goal of the match – a thunderous long-range strike that dipped into the top corner, sealing a 3–1 win for Parish Youth Nuvem.
Francis Colaco was named Food Court Man of the Match, with the award presented by Daryl Dias, Assistant Treasurer, in the presence of Peter Cardozo, Sports Secretary of Santa Cruz Club Cavelossim.
