Priority Titans clinched the Rajdeep Builders Sarsangan Super Series Cricket Championship with a dramatic 21-run victory over Desserts n More Avengers in a match that swung wildly until the very end.
Electing to bat, the Titans faced an early setback, losing their captain Sudin Kamat cheaply. However, Deval Karmali (39) and Sahish Mahambrey (19) stabilized the innings with a 44-run partnership. Samar Dubhashi's explosive 40 off 17 balls, coupled with Granthik Buyao's 19, propelled the Titans to 123-2 at the halfway mark.
The Avengers fought back after the break, taking four quick wickets, including a crucial dismissal of Animesh Prabhugaonkar, thanks to a brilliant catch by Aditya Dalal. A mix-up led to Rauji Kakodkar's wicket, leaving the Titans at 144-6. Sunil Salgaonkar's unbeaten 33 off 18 balls and Akshay Dalvi's 13 not out added a vital 47 runs, pushing the Titans to a competitive 191-6. Aditya Dalal (2-20) was the pick of the Avengers' bowlers.
The Avengers started their chase with a blistering assault, with Sachin Bhandare (38) and Sanat Prabhudesai (37) smashing 74 runs in under six overs. Animesh Prabhugaonkar's dismissal of Aditya Dalal shifted the momentum, and quick wickets fell under pressure, putting the Avengers on the back foot.
Captain Siddhesh Prabhu Alvenkar's aggressive 33, alongside contributions from Dr. Sagar Salgaocar (13) and Akhil Nadkarni (13 not out), brought the Avengers close, needing 22 off the final nine balls. However, Granthik Buyao's sensational hat-trick shattered their hopes, ending their innings at 170.
Granthik Buyao (3-33) and Animesh Prabhugaonkar were instrumental in the Titans' bowling effort, supported by crucial wickets from Sunil Salgaonkar, Samar Dubhashi, Rauji Kakodkar, and Smitesh Divekar.
Granthik Buyao and Sunil Salgaonkar shared the Drogaria Colvalcar Man-of-the-Finals award. Samar Dubhashi won the Priority Constructions Best Batter award, and Aditya Dalal received the Wakao Best Bowler award.
At the prize distribution ceremony, Chief Guest Digambar Kamat, along with Robin D’Souza and Vedant Naik, presented the awards. Aditya Prabhugaonkar was named Player of the Series, Damodar Pai Patnekar received the Best Batter award, Animesh Prabhugaonkar the Best Bowler award, Laxmikant Kurade the Best Wicketkeeper award, Pranav Kamat the Best Fielder award, and Saish Hegde the Emerging Player award.
