Promoted Indian Super League (ISL) side Punjab FC have roped in Goan midfielder Sweden Fernandes.
The 23-year-old Sweden has been signed on a season-long loan from ISL rivals Chennaiyin FC. He had played 15 matches for NEROCA FC on loan last season and scored three goals and provided one assist.
The talented left-footed youngster is a popular name in the Goan football circuit, having turned up for the youth teams of FC Goa, Dempo SC and Sporting Club de Goa.
Punjab FC, who have been promoted to the ISL this season after winning the I-League, have also recruited three other Indian players -- defenders Nongmaikapam Suresh Meitei and Mashoor Shereef, and goalkeeper Shibinraj Kunnaiyil.
