The Rotary Club of Ponda New Generation hosted the 8th All Goa Swimming Competition for children at the Swimming Pool Sports Complex in Ponda, recently. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from young swimmers across the state.
Among the standout performers were the swimmers from RCC Fatorda, who put up an impressive show by bagging a total of 11 medals across different age categories.
In the U-14 Boys category, Deep Naik Dessai (14), a student of Mahila & Nutan English High School, Margao, won the Bronze medal in the 100 metres Breaststroke event.
In the U-13 Girls category, Shreeja Shailash Naik (11), representing Perpetual Succour Convent High School, Navelim, secured a Silver medal in the 100 metres Butterfly event.
The U-11 Boys category saw a remarkable performance from Reuben Rocha (10), a student of Bethany Convent High School, Sao Jose de Areal, who clinched four medals: Gold in 50 metres Butterfly, gold in 50 metres Freestyle, silver in 50 metres Backstroke, silver in 50 metres Breaststroke
In the U-9 Girls category, Aradhya Pradeep Borkar (7), from Vidhya Bharti Primary School, Margao, won a total of four medals: Silver in 50 metres Breaststroke, silver in 50 metres Freestyle, silver in 50 metres Butterfly, bronze in 50 metres Backstroke.
She was joined in the same category by Raizel Rocha (7), also from Bethany Convent High School, Sao Jose de Areal, who won a Bronze medal in the 50 metres Butterfly event.
All five swimmers are coached by Inacio Netty Raposo, under the training programme of RCC Fatorda-Margao, whose guidance and dedication have played a key role in shaping these young talents.
