Sherwin Shaw Falcons and Baale Tigers recorded convincing wins in the Panaji Gymkhana-organised PGML 5.0 tournament on Sunday. While the Falcons edged past Dempo Challengers by three wickets in a thrilling contest, Baale Tigers cruised to a comfortable six-wicket win over Manas Mavericks with nine balls to spare. The matches are being played at the Panjim Gymkhana Ground, Campal, Panaji.

In the morning fixture, Dempo Challengers posted an imposing total of 193 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs. Vedant Naik starred with a blistering knock of 43 off just 16 balls, smashing six sixes, while Shailesh chipped in with a quick 38 off 20 balls, including two fours and three sixes.

Chasing the stiff target, Sherwin Shaw Falcons rode on a superb innings from Tunish Sawkar, who hammered 54 off 22 balls with six fours and three sixes. When the Falcons found themselves under pressure, Sazu Naik (30 off 19 balls and skipper Iftikhar Agha (28 not out off 13 balls played crucial cameos to guide their side to victory. For Dempo Challengers, Skipper Aditya Angle impressed with the ball, claiming 5 wickets for 26 runs.

In the afternoon match, Manas Mavericks were bundled out for 138 in 19.3 overs. Dishank Prabhu Misquin top-scored with 55 off 39 balls (4 fours, 1 six), while captain Ajinkya Kudtarkar contributed 28 runs. Baale Tigers’ bowler Nilesh Bhonsle was the pick of the attack, finishing with 3 wickets for 27 runs.

Baale Tigers chased down the modest target with ease, thanks to Sandeep Dahad's solid 55 off 45 balls, which included four fours and three sixes. Captain Lakshay Garg added an aggressive 36, while Samar Dubhashi and Prasad Patil stayed till the end to complete the formalities.

After three matches each, Manas Mavericks (NRR +2.370)lead the standings, followed by RC Goa (+1.983), Priority Titans (+0.063), Baale Tigers (-0.046), and Sherwin Shaw Falcons (-0.717), all tied on four points. They are followed by Dempo Challengers and Sun Estate Warriors (two points each), while Desserts N More Avengers are yet to open their account.
