MARGAO: St. Sebastiao Youth Club, Fatorda delivered a dominant and clinical display to march into the quarterfinals of the Late Franco Gouveia Memorial Tournament with a comprehensive 4–0 win over St. Rock Youth Club, Majorda. The match was organised by St. Anthony Sports Club, Colva.
St. Sebastiao set the tone early, taking control from the opening whistle. Hanslam Furtado broke the deadlock in the 7th minute and struck again in the 14th, with both goals coming off well-timed assists from Beckham Dias. The early double gave Fatorda complete control of the game. Richie Vaz then added a third goal before halftime, further extending their commanding lead.
The second half saw St. Sebastiao maintain their dominance, with Beckham Dias and Richie Vaz continuing to orchestrate play in midfield while keeping St. Rock on the back foot. Unable to break through defensively, St. Rock struggled to mount any meaningful comeback. Hanslam Furtado capped off a brilliant outing by completing his hat-trick, sealing a convincing win for his side.
For his outstanding performance, Furtado was named Man of the Match, receiving the award from Sarpanch Theresa Silva in the presence of Jimmy Gouveia.
The tournament was inaugurated earlier by Sarpanch Theresa Silva, with former Colva footballer Jimmy Gouveia attending as the Guest of Honour.
